According to the Aston Martin statement, the new convertible outcome bears the name Volante because the vehicle combines the raw and purest form of power from the DBS with the joy of top down driving.
Even with the roof down, the 6.0-litre V12 engine catapults the convertible from 0 to 100 kmh within 4.3 seconds, and then further off until the 307 kmh maximum speed is reached. The convertible top’s fabric of this super sport car opens electrically within 14 seconds – when the vehicle is travelling up to the speed of 47km/h.
Aston Martin calls the DBS Volante a 2+2 seater. The roll balls are hidden under covers and eject only in case of an accident. The winner can select between a manual 6-gear transmission and the Touchtronic Automatic with also 6 gears and in-wheel integrated rocket shifters . Part of the serial installation are the ceramic brakes for brute deceleration action, and a Bang & Olufson DBS aligned High End Audio System with 13 loudspeakers for perfect music indulgence.
